If you've never had hives before, then your one of the lucky ones. Lot's of people suffer through this skin condition, and it's not easy to deal with. Hives is a form of skin rash that has a read and blotchy appearance. It can be quite painful, and irritating. Hives are often quite itchy, and can even be accompanied by a painful burning feeling. It's not a whole lot of fun, that's for sure. The reasons that cause hives are quite often misunderstood, and associated with symptoms unrelated. Hives are in fact not cause by fungus, and hives are also not caused by a bacterial infection. Hives are really just misplaced blood plasma. While blood plasma normally resides in the bodies blood stream on occasion it has been known to leak-out and collect around the skin area. That's not really supposed to occur, and as anyone with hives can tell you, it's not a lot of fun. Fortunately, they're are a few approaches to treating hives, which you'll find in the following paragraphs.
First of all, it's important to identify the situation and evens that triggered the hives in the first place. There are a couple of different causes for hives to appear. The first is often related to an allergic reaction. Usually, some sort of environmental allergy. Your most likely to notice this, when hives are occurring at the same time every year. Usually in the Spring or the Fall. New plants that bloom in the spring, or some other fauna that is predominant in the fall may be what is triggering your hives. Usually, most forms of allergy medication will alleviate the problem here. You may have to try different brands, to find one that works well for you. Be aware of the strength of the medication, and whether it is a drowsy or non-drowsy type.
Stress is another prime reason for getting hives. We all live with stress in our fast paced world, yet everyone handles it differently. You may just be one of the unfortunate souls that breaks out in hives when things get too crazy for you. Certain times of work, school, or family events can be especially stressful. Stress, is generally not something you can avoid, but instead have to learn to deal with. It's important to realize what your stress triggers are, and to have coping strategies for dealing with them. Meditation, yoga, exercise, and getting enough sleep are healthy ways of dealing with stress. There are bad ways of dealing with stress, such as drugs, alcohol, and other addictions, but they should be avoided as much as possible. As your stress levels go down, your hives should begin to clear up.
