Large Mouth Bass Fishing Tips

It's not often that a good fisherman is willing to divulge some of his best fishing tips, but today is an exception.  While this may not be a truly secret fishing technique, there aren't a lot of people that actually employ it.  It has been working for several years, and is growing in popularity.  First of all your going to need some mono line. 20 pounds should work well here. It's really the most important ingredient in this technique.  Additionally, you'll need a good 5.1  cranking  reel, the heavier the better.   A medium action rod of the seven foot action variety should work well.  Most bass bait works well here, but you may want to try the American shad from Lucky Craft RC for better results.

Once your gear is ready, the next most critical factor, is your fishing location.  An area with large lily pads, is likely to be a good spot.  The ideal spots will have variety in both water depth, and bottom surface terrain.  A variety of plant life interspersed with the pads is also a good thing.  A good mix of dying to living vegatation will also increase your chances of landing some big bass.
You'll want to start casting in between the pads, and then drag your large crank across the pads and back into the water.  Quick and jerky motions will help to convince the bass that your bait is one of the favorite meals.  On the water, under the water, over and on the lily pads all does what it can to emulate real live bass fish food.

A stop can be of assistance here for bringing back the bait.  Remember, to constantly move in and out of the pads, while also darting in, on, and out of the water.  Mix it up as much as possible, diving, skimming, and floating your bait across water, plants, and pads.

Be a little adventerous where you try out this technique.  Areas that may not seem good fishing grounds, may just surprise you.  And be patient, the fish in these hiding cover spots, may not be used to this kind of bait, and may take a while before they decide to grab a hold of it.  It's a technique that's worked well for many, and could work well for you, if your willing to be patient, and experiment a little bit.
